I've been a really poor blogger lately, chalk it up to computer issues ok?
Recently, I was at my Mom's visiting with her and my sister. They have lots of projects in the works but they are both finishers. Mom finished the twister quilt she made for me. It is out of Kansas Troubles fabrics, one of my favorite lines. I've brought it home to quilt so I'll post a picture when it's done. My sister sent me home with a few quilts she is giving as gifts so no pics of those until after they are given away.
I did work diligently on my Country Homecoming blocks. I have all the leaves, stars, and berries made. I used the applique foundation paper and was having such a good time I made many more than the pattern required. I also made my bias strips for the vine. This is the picture from the book. We are suppose to be finished in February so I really need to get to work and sew the sashings and borders on to finish the applique work.
First thing is to start with LOTS of glue. Mom and Paula were on a hunt and found a 12 pack at WalMart on clearance for $2.00. They bought a bunch.
Next thing is to draw the design on the foundation paper. This is the paper from Sharon Schamber. I only have about 5 yards left but I have also been using Rinseaway. It works great. Cut the design out on the line.
Below are a few of the berries and leaves I made, almost ready to start sewing them down. Probably machine applique but not sure yet.
That should keep me busy for a day or two.

Phew, when I first saw the Country Quilt, I thought that you were finished and I had better hurry! I have my vines on and am ready for the leaves and berries. Happy Sewing!
